Strength and Conditioning Building Update 1/20/06
We are truly winding down the project! HVAC is last on the agenda and it is being worked on as I type. The HVAC unit has been purchased. The gas line has been prepped and should be dug this week or next. (This weather is NOT cooperating with us at all!) The interior HVAC work has begun and will wrap up in the next few weeks as we await parts and materials to be delivered and installed.
It appears that this project has taken quite awhile to complete! Without the tireless efforts of the SCF committee, this building would not be standing and soon be ready for our teams to take possession of and start the daily GRIND! Our amazing community has given of their funds, work and time for this project. A substantial amount of contracting work has been discounted, donated and volunteered and we are at the mercy of those generous contractors and companies and their schedules. This unfortunately has led to delays and work not being done as QUICKLY as we all would have preferred. The committee wants to wrap this project up just as much as the teams and coaches who want to use it!
We have been told by many contractors that the cost for this building should be well over $300,000 and that we have done an outstanding job getting the deals that we have for the project! The committee will be able to complete this building for less than $200,000! That is awesome!
Thank you to our committee and our community! We are so grateful for your support!
GO CATS!

HDV Strength and Conditioning Fundraiser
Twin Studios and the Strength and Conditioning building are joining forces to offer our student athletes an opportunity to be a part of Wildcat Athlete Mural!
Twin Studios has offered to create a wall cling for our gymnasium as a fundraiser for the new building. This wall cling will be similar to the one below and will hang above the north wall. It will be HUGE!
Each of the 26 varsity sports has a chance to have an athlete on the wall. Additional athletes will be considered at 2 athletes per sport maximum, IF not all 26 sports participate. An athlete can only be on the poster ONE time, no matter how many sports they participate in.
If you would like to have an athlete on the wall, an opening bid/tax free donation of $100 per athlete must be made. In order to raise as much funds as possible, you can “lose” your athletes spot on the mural, if someone outbids you. For example, Bob wants his tennis playing daughter on the Wildcat Athlete Mural. He bids $100 for the spot. Susan wants her tennis daughter on there as well, she bids $125. The bidding will continue until the deadline of 11/4.
Once you have won your athletes spot on the Wildcat Athlete Mural, Twin Studios will position the athletes on the poster based on amount raised. The swimmers, if they participate, will be at the top, due to the fact they cannot be “edited” out of their background. All other sports will be positioned based on amount raised. In the poster above, the top row is where the highest raised per sport will go.
All current students who participate in a varsity sport, are in good standing, and alumni for the past 5 years are eligible to participate. The Wildcat Athletic Mural will be up through fall of 2019. At that time, the athletic department can take it down and do another fundraiser.
The bidding for spots will begin on 10/21 and run through 11/4.
We are using this website for the bidding: http://hdvstrong2015.eflea.ca/
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Christine at 614-264-7714.

Update on HDVSCF. 3/10/15
Thaw! Those are happy words for the Davidson students, committee, athletes, coaches and community! With the warmer weather, the thawing, of the ground will allow site work and foundation prep to begin in the next few weeks! The delivery of the building is the week of April 26th!
As this time approaches, you may have noticed that the amount of funds needed to complete the building has increased. The latest figure from VMP Engineering is $165,000. This figure includes all that is needed to purchase the steel building, foundation and site work and all mechanics needed for the building to function. Included in this figure are materials and labor estimates for the building. Some of these numbers are coming in higher than what was originally estimated by VMP Engineering when we started this project a year and a half ago. We have also added a "buffer" of $10,000 as construction often goes over what is budgeted due to unforeseen issues. $175,000 is the estimated total with buffer. This number may end up high as we receive donations of labor and materials needed to outfit the mechanics of the building. Any monies donated above what is needed for phase 2 will be used for purchase of equipment for the new facility.
The committee is incredibly thankful to the community for over $116,00 raised so far!

We are #DavidsonStrong!
Now on to goal #2 below! We can do this!
The Hilliard Davidson Strength and Conditioning Facility
is a dream that will become reality... The facility will be built next
to the Field House and will be a stand alone building. The building will
be almost twice the size of the existing weight
room. This building
will be paid with NO DISTRICT MONEY, so we need donations to get this
facility built.
All donations are tax deductible.
